Ingredients
25 Medjool dates (or any soft, large variety)
60 ml Whole milk
70 g Powdered Milk
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2-3 Saffron Strands
1 tablespoon chopped pistachios
1 teaspoon rose petals (for garnish)
A few saffron strands (for an extra festive touch)
Directions
- Prepare the Dates: Make a small slit along one side of each date and remove the pit while keeping the date intact.
- Make the Malai Filling: In a pan, pour whole milk with powdered milk and cardamom powder. On medium flame, stirring constantly, cook the mixture well to create a creamy yet thick filling. Once the mixture reduces and thickens switch off the flame and let it cool. Stir in the saffron.
- Stuff the Dates: Using a small spoon or piping bag, fill each date with the malai mixture.
- Garnish: Sprinkle or press in chopped pistachios, rose petals, and a saffron strand over the stuffed dates for a festive touch.
